Features & Brand Collaborations
Adrienne Small
Colorist • Educator
Adrienne Small’s journey in the beauty industry began in 2005 at Gould’s Salon in Memphis, TN, where she discovered her passion for hair while attending Plaza Beauty School. Over a decade behind the chair at Gould’s, she established herself as one of the top signature stylists, known for delivering standout looks tailored to each client. After transitioning to Salon de' Coupe, Adrienne retired from behind the chair after 16 years to pursue her true calling—independent hair color education.
Her expertise has taken her across the United States, training with renowned artists in New York City and working major events like Bobbi Brown’s makeup launch at Ted Gibson Salon in Fort Lauderdale. Adrienne’s work has also graced the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies Grizz Girls, cementing her reputation as the go-to expert for creating a client’s total look.
As an educator, Adrienne’s influence extends far beyond the salon. She has spent three years as a certified Bumble and Bumble network educator, served as a brand ambassador and platform artist for Celeb Luxury, and now collaborates as a color coach for the Texture vs. Race Collaborative. Her role as an international platform artist and educator allows her to share her color mastery on prestigious stages and in classrooms around the world.
Adrienne is also a dedicated philanthropist. She founded THINK PINK! Hair & Fashion Show to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and launched Beyond The Chair: A Beauty Symposium, which evolved into The Adrienne Small Foundation®, a nonprofit that nurtures the next generation of beauty professionals, ages 13-19.
Her entrepreneurial spirit earned her recognition as one of Memphis’s Top 40 under 40 Urban Elite Professionals in 2016. In 2019, Adrienne launched Hair Color Concepts® Magazine and now shares her knowledge through her online school, Hair Color Concepts® Academy, offering monthly memberships, masterclasses, and intensive trainings.
With her Master Cosmetology Instructor license earned in 2021, Adrienne continues to lead as a beauty mastermind. She offers expert education across all hair types, specializing in color, cutting, styling, and natural hair blowouts.
Adrienne's goal is to inspire and equip stylists to push boundaries. Whether you’re looking to elevate your salon, refine your color techniques, or collaborate on innovative brand partnerships, Adrienne is the industry leader ready to inspire and educate.
